SASS Strategy Sessions
Creating and running a small business is definitely a labour of love, passion and dedication but it also takes a lot of planning to evolve and develop. Jaz and Sophie have been chatting to some business gurus and tapping into their wealth of knowledge.
Jaz attended an Instagram strategy day run by Robyn - owner of the fantastic Robyn’s Nest Cafe and small business Networker and Mentor Laura Summers who is an amazing lifestyle blogger and small business marketing mentor. Jaz wanted to learn the best way to develop social media presence for Earsass with the holiday season just around the corner and have a confident marketing strategy for the busiest (and most wonderful!) time of the year. Robyn shared her inspiring story of how she overcame the COVID restrictions which could easily have collapsed her small business and found ways to actually grow and expand during this incredibly challenging time. Robyn shared her personal journey on social media and thanks to her authentic and lovable personality (and some bangin’ brownie boxes) her business has transformed into a well loved brand with an incredible reputation. And I must also add my personal recommendation/addiction for the milkshakes!
Jaz came away from the day with a wealth of information on how social media can transform small businesses when applied well. So expect to see lots more behind the scenes content and entertainment from Sass HQ and experience our highs and lows with us - we’ll try to behave ourselves!! One of the best parts of Networking is meeting and learning valuable lessons from other wonderful small businesses and we’ll continue to bring you lots more collaborations with people and businesses we know will inspire and educate all of us.
I chatted to SASS Boss Sophie about her best tips for developing a small business and she told me Networking was key. Joining a networking group (check and see which ones are local to you) means you create a tribe of people around you who you can learn from. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice as there’s such a wealth of knowledge to tap into - some chargeable and some not. Sophie found the Business Women’s Connections (BWC) run by Kay Anderson invaluable and it led to her meeting amazing female entrepreneurs who have been such a source of support along the way. The most important thing you can do is meet people, find a group and go along. You may find that special person who can help you grow - in your own self confidence as well as your business.
