EAR SASS mindfulness tips

There has been a lot of press this week around the TikTok ban in the States. And now there has been a public call for us all to pause our social media for a week.

We've been talking about this at EAR SASS HQ and have been discussing how this could benefit us. Whether you decide to participate in the social media blackout or even just be mindful of how long you spend online this week, here are some tips from our team to help you use your time to be grounded and to calm your mind.

Find Your Calm: Meditation Tips for a Peaceful Mind
In today’s always-connected world, taking time to calm your mind is more important than ever. Meditation is a powerful way to reconnect with yourself, reduce stress, and embrace stillness. By choosing to disconnect, you give yourself more space to focus on what truly matters, like your own thoughts, feelings, and well-being. Here’s how you can create a calming practice at home and incorporate moments of mindfulness into your day.

Set the Scene for Serenity
Create a dedicated meditation space at home. Start by choosing a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Light a candle—its gentle flicker can help focus your mind while creating a calming atmosphere. Let it remind you to centre your thoughts and embrace the calm. We love Can to Candle and North Muse candles as they're small businesses and really care about their products and what they mean.

Take a Mindful Walk
A simple walk outdoors can work wonders for your mental clarity. Leave your phone behind or put it on silent, and immerse yourself in the present moment. Notice the crunch of leaves underfoot, the sound of birds, or the gentle rustle of the wind. Walking is a moving meditation, grounding you while giving your mind the chance to unwind. Sophie and Jaz in our team can always be found outdoors walking their dogs and connecting with nature.

Practice Gentle Breathing
Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale for six. Repeat this rhythm and feel the tension release with every breath.

Explore Guided Practices
If you’re new to meditation, explore online videos or apps for inspiration. These can guide you through visualisations, affirmations, or body scans, making it easier to build your practice.

By stepping back from distractions and embracing mindfulness, you can find space to calm your mind and reconnect with your true self. Let these small, intentional changes bring balance to your day.

Build mindfulness into the rest of your week
We're obviously really invested in jewellery and style here at EAR SASS. Check out our recent blog on jewellery colours and how they make you feel. Consider a pearl-effect pendant, bracelet or our new Catherine earrings as a symbol of self-reflection and balance. Blue is for calm and trust and green for growth and balance - check the Jenna necklaces and find your colours. Let your creativity remind you to centre your thoughts and embrace the calm.

Whether you embrace the social media blackout, reduce your online time or even incorporate some moments of calm into your daily life we hope you find these useful and of course, do let us know your own tips too! hello@earsass.com
